...sitting in front of a computer at work. no orders though. "i am right on top of that rose!" remember that? don't tell mom the babysitter's dead. ha!
been working a lot. everyday. since monday. no day off till next saturday. one week from today. yes. i am whining. and yes. i think it blows. i don't know how i get myself into these things. good things are: next friday is my last midnight shift (hopefully for a long, long, long time), only one more weekend of working to go...obviously, the countdown is on.
haven't really been chatting with people lately b/c of my work schedule. so, i feel a little disconnected. i did end up chatting with my friend, nell, the other day. about that, oh my god, i am a total paffoon. i love talking with her b/c even though she lives so far away, it always feels like a continuation of a conversation we started in 7th grade. since she has lived out of state since sophomore year of high school, we haven't seen each other more than a day or two at christmastime, when we are both home for the holidays and i go over and claim my plate of her mom's cookies. oh....so damn good! i will be missing that for the next couple years. anyhoo, nell, if you are reading this...sending you my love and thoughts and hoping that you are feeling better. oh, and check your mail in a couple days.
yesterday, at the height of my laziness, i decided to skip the gym. so much for trying to do better. although, i did go twice this week, running on monday and the elliptical on wednesday. however, i did do something productive. i read and noted 1.5 chapters of the australian medicines handbook. i was proud of myself. that was an hour of my day. and i treated myself to a small, nonfat caramel latte too. i was happy that i least recognized some of the meds, and knew some side effects. there are small differences, but nothing too hard...yet. i reviews anaphylaxis/allergies and iv anaesthetics. i am just about to start looking over inhalation anaesthesia. oh boy. hopefully that isn't on the test.
i got my friend's wedding invitation yesterday. miss itzy is getting married on october 18th. i am so sad that i will miss it. i will be in australia by that time, and i don't think we will be ready for a return trip that quick. i am sad that i am missing it, especially since she came all the way to whidbey for ours. she is a special lady, and i hope she is loved and happy for the rest of her life. i am sure roberto will make sure that happens. congratulations itzel and roberto! can't wait to see her wedding pics.
oh, i finally got those damn photos certified. i am totally irritated with kinkos. i don't think i will ever go back there again. they are terrible. they don't know what is going on. so, i am one step closer to mailing in my application for the CAOP exam. however, when i emailed the registrations officer and asked about the english exemption fee, he sent me a new form which basically says that i have to get 2 professional colleagues to write a letter on letterhead that attests to the fact that i am a native english speaker. so, just another thing i have to do...oh, and send them about NZ $900. of course, nothing is free in life.
time is squeezing me. i am squished. need to pack, need to study, need to clean, need to shop, need to get a haircut, need to go to the beach, need to pay my bills, need to go to the dentist/md, need to __________.
