blocked!

blogger has been blocked at work, so i can no longer whine on the clock.

last night was crazy busy. second to last late shift. super chaotic! worked for about 6 hours straight without looking up. was totally ready to go home at 11pm.

finally finished chapter 2 in the australian medicines handbook. halfway done with chapter 3. there are about 800 pages in the book, i am at page 50 i think. making progress. and this chapter is pain meds, and i already know most of the stuff they are telling me. that is a good sign.

this weekend is my last weekend of work. it is weird. obviously, i am still in countdown mode. i am glad that my shifts are all during the day, although sunday the sanity is questionable since i start at 6am. don't know why, but the difference between starting at 6 and 7 am is a huge one for me. however, i am optimistic about it all! not sure how many times i will be able to quit my job in order to move across the world!

been doing my fair share of catching up with old friends from high school, college, and mariners on facebook. that makes me happy. i love knowing that the world is small and we are all connected. ode to six degrees of separation! i found my friend, ryan; he was my first boatswain when i joined mariners. wanna talk about a walk down memory lane? i was 12 then. i am gonna be 30 next week. insane!!! we are growing so old.

my friends, cyndi and karen, from junior high, high school (and even college with cyndi) are on there too. we are planning to meet up when we go down to so cal at the end of september. both of them have 2 kids. karen has timothy and lily. cyndi had connor and joshua. i am glad that i will be able to see them once again before we leave.

also, on sunday, my aunt, uncle, sister, mike and i will go out to the wine cellar in downtown los gatos to celebrate my birthday.
