take away all those healthy points that i racked up in the previous post. i have such bad heartburn right now. i took some maalox and pepcid, and i still feel like hell. see, on the fridays i work, my two coworkers and i try to bring food in to share for dinner. last week bobby brought pizza. this week, i brought boston market. it was so tasty going down, not my gut is revolting and making me sicky mcsick.
here i am all alone in the pharmacy waiting for midnight to roll around. i don't like to close the pharmacy. not that it is hard; i just don't like to be the last one to leave the pharmacy. good thing i don't do it very often. next week i work late a lot of the week. i think the next 2 wednesdays i work till 11pm. not too bad.
i talked to my friend analiisa today. we have been friends a long time, since the 5th grade. it is weird b/c even though we have taken such different paths in life, we still seem to be connected at some level. she moved to chicago in october, and i think she is getting more comfortable there. big change for a california girl that never lived outside a 20 mile radius in orange county for her entire life. i was happy to see her make her way across the country. everyone need to live somewhere new once in their lives, everyone needs to rock the boat a little. and not only did she take the plunge, she trusted a guy enough to dive right in. and although i have never met him, i am sure brandon is wonderful, as she was able to put her insecurities aside and just do what it takes to build a life with him, cameron, and his girls. i have to admit that i was sad that they were not able to come to the wedding. she is one of my lifelong friends, and i really wanted her to be there to share our day. however, i know that financially she couldn't be there for me since she had trekked across the united states. we are now trying to find a way to meet up at least once before i move to nz. i am not sure when or where this will happen, but i am willing to make a valiant effort. we had an idea to meet somewhere we have both never been to before. i was thinking more of a spa/relaxing type of place somewhere between california and illinois. although i would love to see her in her new element and home. something else on my plate to work on.
i told mike that i would like to spend the last week of september in washington. we just happen to have a lot of family and friends there. so, we could make our last visits to our parents, grandparents, various cousins, paco/julie and sunny. also, counting crows are playing in seattle and i know sunny would like to go. besides the matchbox 20 concert, i haven't been to a show in a while...and i haven't seen counting crows in years. i loved the last show i went to at shoreline, and it would be awesome to see it with sunny since we are both big fans. so, tickets go on sale on june 24th. i better tie a ribbon on my finger!
i am making a lot of reconnections with people on facebook. i like those little online communities. its fun to see what people have been up to for all these years since you last had contact with them. lots of people from high school and pharmacy school. not like i will ever see them again. i am not sure i want to. so awkward to try and catch up after 10+ years. what do you say in a few sentences on their wall? or how do you respond to "how is life treating you?" or "what have you been up to in the last decade?" here's my short version details:
-pharmacist
-bay area
-married
-moving to new zealand
still seems so weird. but i guess that is all they want to know.
